And So It Begins...

Okay, so today is the last day of school. Next year I'm a junior... cripes, halfway through... So now that the toils of public education are out of the way I have virtually no excuse to not post as regularly as I can, and I can also do more of these.
Which is groovy.
I have decided I like the word groovy... it's fun to say.
My friend is also coming to visit if all goes well... bah, I'm suddenly exhausted. Good grief. What to talk about.
...And now it is the first day of summer.
...I'm going to see what I can do in the way of clay figurines.
I may update this later.

Happy Late New Year and Even Later Christmas

So I've decided to play with the scanner again... hoping to actually have a bunch of art uploaded on here. I was then reminded of why I don't do that, for after having uploaded one picture, I realized the more detailed ones that I had not inked out and just went ahead and colored would not come out correctly. Our scanner is old. But! But, I do have stuff to show off....

Hang on... jeez, I just found this. Did this while I was messing around with my tablet... This is River Myst... I still can't draw his umbrella, darn it. And his hair's all wrong... but he's one of my original characters... of which I have a ton. I'll have to tell more about him later, he's not the only OC I've recently drawn...

This one, THIS one, took the longest. It's me, by the way. Did I mention I got my hair cut? The more cartoony one in the upper right corner may be replacing my current icon. It's my character  who's called (er, more codenamed) Tyger. She's from the same story as River. I've actually been staring at it so long nitpicking and recoloring it that I don't really have a solid opinion on it.... but I like it enough to post it. So there.
Okay, after a bit of fanagaling I was able to fit both of these on. His name's John Masque. Originally I had a cool sort of concept sheet thing because he has a bunch of little details that aren't quite illustrated here. I'll explain more about him in my next post maybe...

So I'll just wrap this up here. Happy holiday's, everyone. I'll update more frequently now... as a sort of New Year's resolution. Let's see how long that lasts.

Yeah, So Remember How I Said Every Other Day... I'm Working On It

Okay, so yesterday I realized it was July now. I was actually weirdly upset. And It's not just because my sister woke me up with Pop-its and wouldn't shut up about fireworks.
Two days later, the fourth of July has passed, and we saw Jurassic Park in 3D. That was fun. I tried to add to my Tangent Adventure, but the more I try the worse it gets. I'm not going to just toss the idea outright, but...
Alright. Blogging. I will do this! Not in any sort of timely manner at this point, but I will do this!
I forcibly tore myself away from listening to music that I don't really like on Youtube to 'do something productive' and you know how I have a nasty habit of turning a matter of I'm going to see if I could get to any of the things listed in Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon, which is a brilliant book I would recommend you take a look at if you are interested in how-to books that are sort of not how-to books and more a collection of genuinely good advice in a brief ten chapters with interesting pictures. It had a few things that you could do that worked for him. These were my plans:

  1. Make a Digital Desk and an Analog Desk (or move my Laptop, CD whatchamajig, and Tablet things away from everything else.
  2. Start making a 'swipe file.'
This is what it turned into:
  1. Make a Digital Desk and an Analog Desk (or move my Laptop, CD whatchamajig, and Tablet things away from everything else.
  2. ORGANIZE ALL THE THINGS!!!... except my bookshelf. Also dusting!
  3. [Try to] start making a 'swipe file.' Manage little.
On the plus side everything is pretty and clean! Except my bookshelf. I kind of like it.
I've been having some really weird dreams lately... the best being the Doctor Who plus Inception plus something Chell Howe would get into which, sadly, ended way before anything good happened. The worst being the most recent where I got hit by a car. Yeah. Don't ask. I've actually been trying to write down what happens and the results have been amusing. My mind is a weird, weird place.
I quite like it.
So on that note, I am finally finished with this goddang thing. I will publish this now, goodnight.

This Doesn't Even Deserve a Title

Okay, so now today is the first day of summer. I wanted to wait 'til now because I thought I'd have more to write about... (I don't.) Concert band played Pomp and Circumstance and stuff at graduation. I have never realized how dull Pomp and Circumstance is until I actually had to play it. So there's that. Funnily enough, my brain doesn't seem to know it's summer yet. Rosie's week was all fun and cool stuff and my school was it's normal routine until the very last day (today) when everything was just one final test and doing next to nothing. I was both painfully bored and grateful, it was the most enjoyable school's been all year. We watched a bit of the Tintin movie in band. I enjoyed that.
Saturday, ten forty-seven AM. I should really do something productive like write or draw or something. I should... I'm trying to do this but... sigh. Lazy day. Yaaaawn. Kinda sleepy.
Aaaaand I completely wasted most of the day.
Goodbye.

Six Flags

Yeah, so my last post was a bit weird... And I meant to write about our trip to Six Flags opening day, which was ruined by evil cheerleaders and the only ride we went on was the Cyclone. Then Rosie dragged us to Bugs Bunny Land and went on Tweetie's Clubhouse. That was painful to watch. (Her 'WTH am I doing?' face though...) It's like Acrophobia... but so lame it doesn't even amuse 90% of the toddlers. They don't so much fake the kids out, they downright rock them to sleep...
Okay, in a terrific show of why I shouldn't just leave in the middle of a post. (I just did it again, too.) We've suddenly fast-forwarded to the second day of Spring Break. We went to Six Flags again Easter, the exact opposite of opening day. I rode many rides multiple times and Rosie went on two whole rides (I think. She didn't count the log ride as a coaster.).
And now we're going again with one of Rose's friends. Yay.

...And a Happy New Year...

Merry Christmas, guys!
So today I got THE ART BOOK FOR AMERICAN MCGEE'S ALICE: MADNESS RETURNS!! Which probably no one cares about or knows what that even is. Well, that's what Google is for, god dang it. Look it up. Look it up and be forever changed by the awesome darkness that is American McGee's Alice. Unless you're like, ten, then STAY THE FLIP AWAY FROM ALL THINGS AMERICAN MCGEE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TRAUMATIZED! I should not write stuff at ten-thirty in the evening. I get into meaningless rants. But American McGee's Alice... Is worth it. Every time. Makes me want to write about a twisted Vivia Drea... but then my sane, wimpy self says no. I will eventually. Probably I'll start it one day at three in the morning when I just don't care about anything anymore.
Yeah, so this is just posting because I say I will do much writing and then nothing happens and there is just pathetic silence on my end. So I'm gonna write something every other day and FINISH THE SECOND CHAPTER OF LOST RABBIT(Here) THAT HAS BEEN SITTING IN DRAFTS FOREVER. The characters sound/act so awkwardly, they're hard to write for. It was all like 'oh this is gonna happen, then this, and this and when I publish Chapter One it just "DEAD" I seriously was throwing myself at it every way I could, so It's going to be a short chapter. Wah. Short things are for wimps that can't handle plot.
So like I said! Happy holidays and all that wonderful stuff. Bye.

It's Christmas!!!

Okay, so school finally let out for Christmas Break, so I can focus on the lovely, lovely holidays instead of 'OH DEAR GOD THIS IS ALL DUE TOMORROW!!' School stuff. And what better way to start off the holidays with what my sister did. She was all 'YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE MY PRESENT FOR YOU SO MUCH! I WANT TO TELL YOU SOOO BAD!' for a week. And was like 'meh, okay Eager MacBeaver.' And this morning when I woke up after a dream involving in the finding of missing friends of friends that I don't really have, and unconventional train riding-more on that later, I'm now keeping a Dream Journal-she was going to give me a present early. I wasn't expecting much, even with her so excited, but then I was truly surprised when she brought in-guess what- a KITTEN!! I've been asking for one since about last Christmas, never really expecting to get one. BUT ROSIE GOT ME ONE! He's an orange tabby, adorableness catified. I literally went 'I will love him and hug him and call him... uh... uh...' I stammered, trying to chose a name. 'Is it bad if I call him Bunny, since he's a cat?' So his name is Bunny II, after the stuffed animal I spent most of my life with. Right now he's snoozing next to me while I blog to music and talk to Rosie about stuff. It's a weird, barely there competition for his attention when Rosie's just fawning over him because she's great with animals and I'm... not. He's the best early Christmas present ever.
