Oh... Hi. Yeah, I'm Back *Waves Casually as If I Wasn't for Nearly a Month*

So in 0.5 seconds of my friend being here I realized that to juggle my self-imposed schedule (SPELLED IT RIGHT FIRST TIME OH MY GOD YES!) while appreciating the fact that my very best friend that I haven't seen since about last fall was here in glorious 4D was not only idiotic but would be kinda disrespectful (probably?) and I have been busy doing things with her and she might very well be coming for winter break who knows? I hope so.
So sudden hiatus was put on everything.
Not complaining, I had fun. Lost track of the days of the week. Let time stretch out.
I'm not apologizing for putting things on hold, I'm just announcing that things'll resume.
Oh and we started collaborating on a story.
The tale behind that is interesting in itself, as it was conceived from the stupid 95% dead Homestuck RP we were doing, having just watched The Awakening on Netflix, and it being about two in the fucking morning and we decided to make a ghost hunter AU for the RP.
The moment I sat in front of my laptop I had no idea how to go about it, so my frazzled brain went 'fuck it.' And we spent that night having decided to change the last names of her OCs and the full names of mine (I had picked them from Free Thought, Relativity, and Mind Games. And thus, those OCs have another alt version of themselves. I tend to do that a lot, not sure if it's laziness, as the characters are distinctly different, but then again even without the alt versions accounted for I have many, many, many OCs and it's hard to keep track of 'em all. Plus it's interesting exploring how the different circumstances shape the characters into almost an entirely new person. J. Jones from Relativity and Louis Callibre from Free Thought are Alt Selves and they're as different as night and day with only a few core ideals and loyalties in common. Not that I've explained their characters online yet... I will in time.
When we finally got off of name meaning websites and finished arguing about how the fuck you pronounce 'Graeae' out loud, we got to the plot. Prepare for shitty semi-accurate but poorly-phrased summary:
Eight kids are targeted for extraordinary abilities they possess, and four individuals that all of them are indirectly connected to are asked to figure out a way to protect them. They need to be hidden, of course, but that will only do so much. One puts forth a sort of experiment, nearly a game. Proposes the idea to make the kids into a team, and teach them how to use their ability to defend themselves. Most of them are strangers to one another, with a few exceptions. Each kid is put in an isolated location, given a task, a tool, and means to communicate with the other eight kids as well as near-constant supervision from the four. Finishing the task means finding or activating a teleportation network between the eight locations, thus being able to meet the rest in person. (The four originally thought that they would have everything sorted shortly after they completed their goal... spoilers)
So it's basically a bunch of teens arguing with each other and trying to use powers a few of them didn't even know hey had, or did and couldn't control or didn't want them, and four grownups trying to babysit them and trying not to get killed while trying to hunt down the person/organization responsible for the huge fucking mess. We have a lot of ideas and we're wondering how exactly this is gonna be layed out, but it's fun.
So I wasn't totally inactive all that time, and when my friend gets back online maybe you'll be hearing more on these characters... I'll get more specific too, which will be good.
Until tomorrow, (Finally, am I right?)

In Which I Find Something I Like So Much I Spend a Whole Post Talking About It

Okay, so the Alice: Otherlands Kickstarter is coming to a close in some 47 hours and THEY HAVE ONLY 85 PERCENT OF THEIR GOAL COMPLETED and that make me very nervous because I have way more emotionally invested in this idea than is safe for my sanity. How in ever-loving eff have they not met and surpassed the $200,000 goal yet? But before I continue ranting, I'll explain what the thing is for those of you not yet ready to click the link.
I mentioned getting the art book for Alice: Madness Returns for Christmas last year here. A: MR is a video game, and a sequel to American McGee's Alice, which came out in the late 90's/early 2000's that I fell in love with for it's amazing environments, characters, and story. Alice: Otherlands is something of a preview into the third chapter in Alice's story, a series of film shorts of her going into famous minds and helping them fight their inner demons and such. If they don't raise at least $200,000, it won't happen.
And heads will roll if this doesn't happen.
A few more reasons why I am behind this other than any Alice stuff is just fantastic in my opinion, is that they have mentioned it possibly leading to:

  1. A feature length film. They actually said that in the trailer. This could lead to a feature length Alice movie.
  2. SOMEWHERE--possibly on the AMA American McGee did he said that there was talk of a third Alice game, and that talk was positive. In my head, these film shorts could pretty much be a great promoting thing for the game if that pans out.
  3. The idea that Alice can now go into other's minds is so insane that I love it. I love the concept, and the whole dream-world thing has always been something I love to see played with in any media.
And also I suck at video games. I wouldn't be advertising it so much if it weren't so amazing yet so just-barely-there. GO! Look at the concept art! Go to the Facebook Page! And for god's sake donate if you can!

Six Flags

Yeah, so my last post was a bit weird... And I meant to write about our trip to Six Flags opening day, which was ruined by evil cheerleaders and the only ride we went on was the Cyclone. Then Rosie dragged us to Bugs Bunny Land and went on Tweetie's Clubhouse. That was painful to watch. (Her 'WTH am I doing?' face though...) It's like Acrophobia... but so lame it doesn't even amuse 90% of the toddlers. They don't so much fake the kids out, they downright rock them to sleep...
Okay, in a terrific show of why I shouldn't just leave in the middle of a post. (I just did it again, too.) We've suddenly fast-forwarded to the second day of Spring Break. We went to Six Flags again Easter, the exact opposite of opening day. I rode many rides multiple times and Rosie went on two whole rides (I think. She didn't count the log ride as a coaster.).
And now we're going again with one of Rose's friends. Yay.

Two in a Matter of Days!

New 'Lost Rabbit' chapter!
Okay. Yes it's short. Yes it took me forever. And yes, I will say more will be coming and it will most likely take longer than I say it will. Or shorter, since I'm already expecting to take awhile. Next chapter or so I'll be bringing me into it, so I might feel more involved. People, remind me: I could try scanning my drawing journal pages so I have some pictures on here again. (But that might be a bit difficult without my handy flashdrive.) And setting up polls are a pain I think I'll stop. Maybe find something new to put in that space, whatcha think? Oh god... that rhymed. Ugh.
I also hate Tumblr at the moment for compelling me to read ALL ONE-HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SEVEN PAGES OF SOMEONE'S BLOG. It was very interesting, but god, it took me THREE DAYS. THREE DAYS! Whoever invented Tumblr is evil and amazing. And is also responsible for a temporary shortening of my attention span while Tumbling. Oh, and yay for three-day weekends!

It's Christmas!!!

Okay, so school finally let out for Christmas Break, so I can focus on the lovely, lovely holidays instead of 'OH DEAR GOD THIS IS ALL DUE TOMORROW!!' School stuff. And what better way to start off the holidays with what my sister did. She was all 'YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE MY PRESENT FOR YOU SO MUCH! I WANT TO TELL YOU SOOO BAD!' for a week. And was like 'meh, okay Eager MacBeaver.' And this morning when I woke up after a dream involving in the finding of missing friends of friends that I don't really have, and unconventional train riding-more on that later, I'm now keeping a Dream Journal-she was going to give me a present early. I wasn't expecting much, even with her so excited, but then I was truly surprised when she brought in-guess what- a KITTEN!! I've been asking for one since about last Christmas, never really expecting to get one. BUT ROSIE GOT ME ONE! He's an orange tabby, adorableness catified. I literally went 'I will love him and hug him and call him... uh... uh...' I stammered, trying to chose a name. 'Is it bad if I call him Bunny, since he's a cat?' So his name is Bunny II, after the stuffed animal I spent most of my life with. Right now he's snoozing next to me while I blog to music and talk to Rosie about stuff. It's a weird, barely there competition for his attention when Rosie's just fawning over him because she's great with animals and I'm... not. He's the best early Christmas present ever.
